Instructions
• Introduce the activity by telling students that they
are going to play a game of dominoes to match
questions and answers about animals. Divide
the class into groups of three and give a set of
dominoes to each group.
• Ask groups to shuffle the dominoes and hand
them out so that each student gets four cards.
One student begins the game by laying down one
of their cards. The next student must lay down
a matching domino at either end and read out the
question and the answer on the card. If they do
not have a matching domino, they miss a turn.
• The game continues until someone has used up all
of their dominoes and wins the game.
Instructions
• Give a copy of the questionnaire to each student.
Ask them to look at the pictures and guess which
verbs they represent. Check the answers with the
whole class.
• Explain that students need to find one classmate
for each ability on the questionnaire. Elicit the
first question they are going to ask onto the
board as an example. Demonstrate the activity by
asking individual students the first question until
somebody answers

• Encourage students to move around the classroom
and interview their classmates. Set a time limit of
10 minutes for this activity.

Instructions
• Introduce the activity by telling students that they
are going to practise making requests and agreeing
or refusing. Divide the class into groups of four and
give each group a set of cards sorted into questions
and answers. Students place the question cards in
a pile face down and hand out three answer cards
to each group member. They should not show their
cards to the classmates.
• One student begins by picking up a question card
and checking if they have the corresponding card
among their own answer cards. If they do, they
put away the pair. If they do not, they read out the
request from their card to someone in their group. If
this student has the matching answer card, they say
Yes, of course.
and hand their card to the asker who
keeps the pair of cards. If they do not have the card,
they say
I’m sorry, I/you can’t.
and the asker has to
return the question to the bottom of the pile of
question cards. Then it is another student’s turn. The
winner is the student with most pairs of cards.

Instructions
• Divide the class in two teams. Give a copy of
Worksheet A to everybody in Team A and a copy
of Worksheet B to everybody in Team B. Ask
students to read the questions and the answers
to themselves to make sure they understand
everything.
• Explain if anything is unclear, but do it so that the
other team cannot hear. Ask Team A to read out
one question at a time to Team B. They must not
read the answer in brackets. Allow 40 seconds
to answer each question. Team B members have
to agree on the same answer. Award one point
for each correct answer and keep the score on
the board. Once Team B has answered each
question, encourage Team A to read out additional
information provided in the brackets.
• Repeat with Team B asking their questions to Team
A. The winner is the team with most points.
