Stoneford
A Location for Mausritter

Stoneford is a town of roughly 170 inhabitants
built on the inside of an abandoned human
well. The inside of the well is filled with
wodden scaffolding, pillars and planks that
support the buildings that sit against its walls.
It’s vertically divded in four districts: Upper
Stoneford, Middle Stoneford, Lower
Stoneford, and The Depths, which are
connected via a sprawling web of walkways,
ladders, ramps and staircases. It’s ruled by a
council of elders from the most important
families in town.
This is just a town concept from my current
campaing that I thought other people might
find cool. Feel free to use this town concept in
any way you want, including modifying it
and/or using it as part of your own resources.

A part of Lower Stoneford has collapsed into
The Depths.
At night, someone cut the bucket’s rope
without anyone noticing.
Mice claim a sea monster has moved into
The Depths.
A council member has dropped an
invaluable heirloom into the waters below.
Frogs have moved into The Depths. They
claim it’s their territory and forbid mice
from fishing there.
An ancient, sunken tresure trove has been
discovered at the bottom of The Depths.

The bucket:
Council manors:
Only accessible via bucket, the
manors sit inside of the well’s
roof. They are where the ruling
elders reside and make all of
their choices regarding the
town.
Raised and lowered continually.
There’s a bucket station at each
district. Mice can pay 5 pips at
any station to get on the bucket
and quickly travel between
districts.
The gate:
When it’s closed, the only way
into town is to climb the wall.
Highly coveted due to being the only
part of the town reached by Sunlight,
Higher Stoneford is home to the
commercial district, and the houses
of the richer mice.

Middle Stoneford:
While this part of town isn’t reached
by sunlight, its still relatively dry, its
houses are sturdy, and it’s mostly free
from the stench of the stagnant
waters below.
Secret cave:
What’s in it? Who does it
belong to? Why did they
dig it? Why do they keep
it secret?
Home to the mice who can’t afford to
live in the higher districs. Traversing
Lower Stoneford is quite dangerous, as
the wood its structures are made of is
constantly rotting from the humidity of

The stinky, stagnant waters below
Stoneford. Some mice come to the
lowest platforms of Lower Stoneford to
fish the creatures that live here
