HON66 picking and decoding using the
Lishi 2in1 pick
As a 4 track key you have 4 rows of wafer to deal with , you have a left upper row, a right upper
row and a left bottom row and a right bottom row .
The key will be cut with the left upper and right bottom side being identicle and the right upper side
and the left lower side being cut identical, so that the key can be entered any way up.
The best picking sequence for this lock , Mr Li says is ;
Right upper row axis A
Left Upper row Axis B
Right Bottom row Axis B
Left Bottom row Axis A
We must first pick all binding wafers on the A axis upper and lower
In this case the 3 position on the upper row, a slight movement was felt and nothing else was
binding, you would pick all binding wafers on the upper and lower row of the A axis.
You now need to pick the binding wafers on axis B upper and lower rows;
Position 2 lower
position 4 lower
Position 5 upper lock turns
Once the position 5 on the B axis row was picked the lock rotated 45 degrees, the lock is still not
open, many confuse this as open when picking this lock, but its not, there will still be binding wafers
on the A axis row.
You now need to pick the binding wafers on the A axis row
Position 2 on the bottom row
Position 3 on the upper row and lock opens fully
The lock is now open and can be decoded , in order to decode the lock we must hold the lock in this
fully open position via the tension handle and decode in the same direction as we picked the lock.
An example of this is shown below on the same lock as above ;
Position 2 reads as a No 5 cut.
Decode each position you had a binding wafer in and in the same direction as picked and enter into
instacode to confirm the missing end cuts.
Plenty of locksmiths have come unstuck or confused when trying to lock this lock, as the lock will
not fully reset to the locked position and instead only part sets to the 45 degree position.
Locksmiths in the past have resorted to removing and stripping the lock to reset it which is very
time consuming.
The lishi 2in1 has simplified this , saving time and energy on relocking , all that is needed is to
tension in the locking direction and pick the binding wafers on the A axis , normally the last ones
picked and the lock will fully reset and lock;
