COLLEGE IS
the bane of my fucking existence; studying and
ignoring preppy fucking girls that are worried about how they’re going
to nail the quarterback on the football team. I hate it.
Me? I just want to survive.
I want to get a good job so that I can get my sister out of the house
she is living in with my “parents”, and I say parents very lightly. They
provided a roof for us, but that’s the most they’ve ever done.
Now I live in a dorm with a roommate. I was practically kicked out
at the age of eighteen while still in high school because I wouldn’t help
feed my parents’ drug habit anymore.
I’m barely nineteen, but I feel like I’m one hundred.
I’ve raised my little sister since she was a baby; she’s now fourteen-
years-old. I started taking care of her when I was five –years old.
Somehow, someway, she made it, we both made it.
Our parents were so high at times, that they’d forget that we both
even existed; sometimes their eyes would come unglazed, and they’d
look at us like, “who
the fuck are you?”
I just wanted to shake them and ask them why are you so selfish.
