Introduction
Welcome to "Asquilla RPG - Core". Before you head in, I'd
like to thank you and give you a bit of a heads up of what
you can find within these pages.
This book contains
everything
you need to start playing,
whether you're a player or a storyteller. If you
downloaded the sample, you'll be able to start, but you
won't be able to experience everything (you'll be missing
out on about 50% of the entire content).
The RPG-system has its origins from a card-game I created
over 20 years ago, but never published. Then "Dungeons
& Dragons 5e" came along and I decided to create a full-
blown homebrew world using that same card-game as
inspiration (I still have all the versions lying around). Some
campaigns later and I was like, why don't I create my own
RPG system, how hard can it be... And what I've created,
can be found here.
Cool story, right... Anyway, in its current form, the book
has
everything
you'll need to start playing, the only things
missing are:
Some dice, but there are apps out there that
can do that for you.
Pen and paper for notes
More content (working on that as fast as I can)

By using the sample, you'll have access to about 40% of
what the game has to offer.
How to use this book?
Now that you have a book, what to do with it? If you're a
player, you'll only need to read through Part I. If you've
taken on the job as storyteller, you'll want to read the
entire book before heading into your first session. Part I
holds all the information about the system and player
characters. Part II has some tools for you as a storyteller
as well as treasure tables and lots of other useful bits. Part
III is all about what creatures you can throw at your
players to make them suffer... I mean, challenge them.
What is a Tabletop RPG?
Before we jump into the Asquilla RPG system, what
exactly is a tabletop RPG?
A tabletop RPG is a game played physically at a table (or
with today's technology, it can also be played online) with
a bunch of friends. One person in the group is the
storyteller, guide, Dungeon Master (DM), ... and together
with the other players they go on various adventurers.
Some player characters will survive the story and others
won't. It all depends on the decisions made by the players
and for some randomness, dice rolls.
So now that we have an idea what a tabletop RPG is, let's
talk about Asquilla RPG specifically.
And lastly a small warning, this book
will
include:
Spelling mistakes
Grammatical errors
Inadequate explanations
Unclear rules
Contradictions
Incomplete content (which will be remedied as
soon as possible)
Stuff that is subjected to change
